Government Archive

This initiative is concerned with evaluating the status of the archives systems in government entities and departments of the Emirate of Sharjah, and providing them with recommendations and solutions, to elevate those entities to the ranks of developed countries in the field of current and mediate archiving. This step may be achieved by establishing practices, policies, and procedures that guarantee archiving various documents, in accordance with the international standards, in addition to providing the necessary recommendations related to the important procedures and precautions, to maintain the documents from damage and wear.

The main goal of this initiative is to establish a central unit within the organizational structure of the entities referred to as “Central Archive”. This Central Archive will be responsible for organizing the documents and records of the entity in order to ease the using and maintaining the documents and records until their final destination is specified, once their administrative, legal, financial, and media validity expires.
